Challenge

After the Telegraph Media Group acquired this title from its founder, we were brought in to completely redesign the title from the smallest typographical detail to the most sumptuous double-page spread. Our brief was to create a sophisticated, modern, lifestyle magazine for lovers of fine watches.

The Solution

We created a new, flexible template and commissioned the world’s best watch photographers to contribute. Four years and 22 issues later, this successful, market-leading title was acquired by its publishing rival, Hearst.

1.0 Cover design

“Under Scott's creative guidance, QP has blossomed into a luxurious, vibrant and stylish magazine, with beautiful covers that have seen sales increase across our UK outlets.”

2.0 Photography

Bespoke Photography

Before we came on board all of the photography was sourced from the watch brands. We fought hard for a dedicated photography budget to create bespoke images which matched the quality of the writing and matched the editorial story and tone.

Through our established contacts we were able to bring in some of the World's leading still life photographers to contribute to the title.

3.0 Typography and Layout

Typography

Our brief was to create a stylish lifestyle magazine for horology enthusiasts. We wanted to create a sense of occasion with our use of type.
